Abstract //

Increasingly Universities have been using Learning management Systems without assessing the faculty perspective of the tools which it provides. When the faculty perception is understood implementing professional development can provide and be more conducive student and faculty engagement in an online or blended course. This paper provides a quantitative and comparative analysis of  Desire2Learn's preferences and perspective of tools used by students and faculty.  A survey was electronically distributed to the faculty and student populations to determine students and faculty perception of Desire2learn tools, and to assess the difference in their preferences between the two populations. The results of this survey will be analyzed to determine the faculty and student perceptions of these tools and commonly used features to develop professional development.
